MICRONET

Backed by Southwest Microwave's 40 years of perimeter security experience, the MICRONET fence detection system is the perimeter security solution of choice for correctional applications due to its heavy-duty construction, unique ability to pinpoint perimeter disturbances to within 3 m (10 ft) and high nuisance alarm resistance.

MICRONET is based on patented MicroPoint Cable technology which detects any fence disturbance and locates it to within 3 m (10 ft). Precise location allows digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms to detect attempts to climb or cut a fence, while ignoring distributed fence disturbances caused by rain, wind or vehicle traffic and preventing the nuisance alarms that plague traditional fence sensors.

MICRONET transmits operating power and alarm signals to system modules and auxiliary sensors along the perimeter using a single, patented MicroPoint cable, eliminating the need for extensive wiring. For simplified administration, user-friendly Windows-based MICRONET software transforms your PC into an installation test set, graphic map and alarm monitoring display in one.

With MICRONET, detection zones are assigned in software anywhere along the cable, reducing hardware requirements and lowering installed cost versus traditional fence sensors. Zones may be tied into camera presets for precise, immediate assessment of alarms. MICRONET also uniquely compensates for variations in fence fabric using a patented calibration process which achieves uniform detection sensitivity along the fence without upgrades or replacement prior to sensor installation.
