Perimeter Security Solutions - Relocatable Microwave Sensor
316 RDS Rapid Deployment Sensor
316 RDS is a fully portable microwave T/R Link which provides high
probability of detection and low false alarm rate in the outdoor
environment. State-of-the-art circuitry, a precise detection pattern and
unmatched ease of setup with tampered external controls make 316 RDS
ideal for short-term protection of VIP's, critical mobile assets such as
trucks or aircraft, construction sites, freight yards and other
temporary high security applications. 316 RDS can be used at gates,
portals or roadway crossings or to establish a full perimeter of
volumetric detection.
With a range of 244 m (800 ft), 316 RDS
operates at K-band frequency (24.162 GHz), achieving superior
performance to X-band sensors. Because K-band frequency is 2.5 times
higher than X-band, the multipath signal generated by an intruder is
more focused, and detection of stealthy intruders is correspondingly
better. K-band frequency also limits susceptibility to interference from
airport landing systems, aircraft or marine radar, and other microwave
intrusion systems.
Antenna beamwidth is 3.5 degrees in both the
horizontal and vertical planes with very low side lobes, allowing 316
RDS to operate at long ranges and within narrow corridors. Proprietary
narrow band receiver design increases detection probability by alarming
on partial or complete beam interruption, increase or decrease in signal
level or jamming by other transmitters. Its Automatic Gain Control
(AGC) circuit permits the receiver to compensate for varying site
conditions or changes in the weather.
Six field-selectable
crystal controlled modulation channels with narrow band filtering allow
several 316 RDS sensors to be used together without mutual interference.
316
RDS is supplied with rugged, universal mounting bracketry and a
weatherproof mating connector for power and alarm connection. Tripod,
power source and alarm transmitter / receiver not included. As a low
current device, 316 RDS may be powered via batteries or solar power.
